K2 Recruit is partnering with a specialist managed services provider to recruit a motivated and technically inclined Level 1 Support Technician to join their Networks & IPTV support team. This role is based in Central Johannesburg and will focus on supporting WiFi networks, switching infrastructure, and IPTV platforms within enterprise and hospitality environments.This opportunity is well suited to a support engineer with a solid technical foundation who is eager to grow within a structured IT and IPTV environment. The successful candidate will deliver first-line technical support, perform initial configuration and troubleshooting, and escalate more complex issues while maintaining high service delivery standards. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support & TroubleshootingProvide Level 1 support for WiFi networks, switching infrastructure, and IPTV platforms.Perform basic fault-finding on network connectivity and IPTV-related issues.Monitor system alerts and respond to incidents in line with defined SLAs.Escalate unresolved or complex issues to Level 2 support with clear diagnostics and documentation.Networking & InfrastructureAssist with basic switch configuration, including VLANs, ports, PoE, and basic QoS.Support and troubleshoot WiFi access points and controllers.Work with enterprise-grade networking hardware such as Ruckus, HPE, Aruba, and similar vendors.Perform basic network health checks, including connectivity, cabling, and device status.IPTV & TV ConfigurationSupport IPTV platforms such as Hoist and LG Pro:Centric.Assist with TV provisioning, configuration, and channel testing.Perform basic IPTV troubleshooting, including signal loss, freezing, and channel mapping issues.Support hotel-room TV setups and basic middleware checks.Customer Support & Service DeliveryDeliver professional, customer-focused first-line technical support.Communicate clearly with clients regarding issues, progress, and resolutions.Log, update, and close support tickets accurately within the service management system.Adhere to defined processes, SOPs, and escalation procedures.Documentation & Continuous ImprovementMaintain accurate ticket notes and resolution documentation.Contribute to knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides.Learn from escalated incidents and assist with service improvements.Support the maintenance of as-built documentation. EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Proven expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater master planning and flood risk assessmentAdvanced modelling capability using industry-preferred hydrology and hydraulic softwareExperience in training and technical modelling methodologiesRegistered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng)Relevant tertiary qualification in HydrologyExperience within mining or large industrial environments highly advantageousDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate would be required, but not limited to: Conduct site visits including inspection, data collection, sampling and measuring of stormwater infrastructureVerify topographic and survey data and develop a detailed status quo assessment for modelling purposesIdentify and document all man-made structures influencing stormwater runoff (roads, rail, embankments, etc.)Identify survey data gaps and develop additional field survey plans where requiredDevelop layout plans of existing stormwater infrastructure and planned/pipeline stormwater projectsCompile a detailed technical memorandum including photographs, findings, problem areas and infrastructure scheduleDelineate catchments considering life of mine plans and clean/dirty water separationEvaluate adequacy of onsite climate monitoring networkDevelop intensity-duration-frequency rainfall curves using latest rainfall data and climate change considerationsCharacterize hydrology, topography and runoff for various life-of-mine scenarios including closureDevelop a conceptual Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) for current, planned and closure phasesConduct flood hazard evaluation using rain-on-grid/direct rainfall modelling methodsProduce site flood maps in line with AA TS 602 104 standards for various rainfall scenariosEvaluate adequacy of existing stormwater and flood control infrastructure (culverts, berms, trenches, sumps, pumps, etc.)Provide flood and sedimentation risk exposure summary with supporting technical memorandum and presentation.Provide maps in KMZ, PDF and shapefile formats and share model input files with client.Facilitate a one-day risk assessment workshop aligned to the AA integrated risk rating matrix guideline
