You will identify suitable properties and then get involved in the attainment and maintenance to secure those development rights that are needed to start the project development process. You will be involved in liaising with Project Managers, conducting the necessary research to identify the landowners and supporting on introductory calls with landowners to arrange site visits.
Part of your role will be aiding the negotiation process with landowners as well as assisting with the conceptualisation, drafting and execution of related agreements. Weekly progress reports will be needed, as well as the paper trail you know so well to keep.

You will join a renewable energy leader with a number of technologies within their portfolio; wind, solar and hybrid projects. Cape Town will be your home with required business related travel.

Your negotiating skills alongside a degree and at least 2 years of commercial experience, with proven success in a similar role are non-negotiable. Naturally, you would have experience with GIS software and things like Google Earth to find what you need to move the process along. It will be an advantage for you to have renewable energy experience already, particularly in wind or solar (utility scale).

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that resources, schedules and financials are planned and collated in a structured manner to deliver the required outcomes, while managing within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost.MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitate and manage work-streams that span across multiple business functionsProvide collaborative leadership for the stakeholders to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestonesFull project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full articulation of future requirements, roadmap to implementation and business case for fundingReport on project success criteria, progress and management activitiesPrepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the projectEngage adequate resources to collaboratively achieve project objectives in planned timeframesManage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chair the project management team meetingsProvide status reporting regarding project scope, milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadershipManage all aspects of multiple related work-streams to ensure the overall project is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of stated objectivesMonitor staff performance and complete performance reviewsDemonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address objectives while maintaining alignment with industry best practicesDelegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnelAdditional Responsibilities for Implementation Project Phase (post securing investment funding against a business case)Ensure delivery of a complete solution into a changed business operating environment, including business process, capacitated and correctly structure people, key performance indicators, appropriate management information, systems and digital enablement and appropriate training and materials embedded into business as usualManage the change aspects of delivering a new capability into the Food business, enabling adoption and a positive user experienceUnderstand and manage interdependencies between technology, operations and business needsManage project scope and changesParticipate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholdersDefine the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested goods and servicesRISK RESPONSIBILITIESWork creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellenceAct as an internal quality
