We are seeking an innovative and detail-orientated Purchase
Assistant and Delivery & Collection Driver to join our team.
In the Purchase Assistant role, the
successful candidate will serve as the point of contact for all internal and
external communications involving purchases. The Purchase Assistant must help
to maintain our supply inventory level and negotiate prices with existing and
new suppliers. The Purchase Assistant will be charged with conducting regular
price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best price
for each product that is purchased.
This role requires an energetic and
team-oriented professional who can work independently,
accurately and expediently to ensure the accuracy of all
transactions.
In the Collection & Delivery role the
successful candidate will also be responsible for all driving, collections and
deliveries of products and materials and equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Maintaining strong working relationships
with our suppliers.
-Review purchasing agreements with
suppliers and maintain effective lines of communications with those suppliers
-Develop an effective and active process
for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on
current manufacturing demands
-Monitor stock levels.
-Manage a small store.
-Place purchase orders with suppliers.
-Update internal databases with order
details
-Compare product deliveries with issued
purchase orders and contact suppliers when there are discrepancies
-Address purchase errors in a timely manner
-Track and monitor purchases from initial
order to delivery.
-Answer inquiries from potential suppliers.
-Delivering and collecting a wide variety
of items.
-Setting and following driving routes and
time schedules.
-Preparing and inspecting and operating the
delivery vehicle.
GENERAL SKILLS:
-Must have the ability to work independently
and accurately
-A pro-active outlook is essential
-Candidate should be dependable, hardworking
and an effective communicator with strong written communication skills.
-Proven working experience as a Purchase
Assistant and Delivery & Collection Driver.
-Excellent organizational and time
management skills.
-Professional and pleasant disposition and
be able to give clients and suppliers a positive customer service experience
REQUIREMENTS:
-Male applicants ONLY – Do collections
in industrial suburbs and moving heavy materials
-Valid driver’s license.
- South African ID
-Good driving record with no traffic
violations.
-Willingness to work additional hours as
needed.
