The Industrial Engineer is responsible for conducting BOM (Bill of Materials) reviews, performing time and motion studies, and carrying out process capability studies. The role focuses on analysing production data, ensuring process stability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.Key Performance AreasEnsure accurate timekeeping for start-ups and conduct detailed time studiesConduct time and motion studies across operationsEnsure adherence to health, safety, and PPE protocolsCapture and analyse machine and process informationCapture weight and cycle time data across all three shiftsPlot and create capability analyses using bar graphs, bell curves, and related statistical tools to ensure process stabilityStructure and organise production information according to required formatsReconcile and consolidate production data (manual records, Plant Master system, and actual output)Create dummy BOMs for review with consolidated supporting documentationDrive meetings and consolidate relevant data for stakeholdersPresent findings and recommendations from studies to relevant stakeholdersCore Competencies & AttributesStrong analytical and numerical ability (excellent maths skills)Ability to perform time and motion studiesAbility to conduct capability studies to Six Sigma levelsStrong problem-solving skills (identify, assess, and resolve issues)Advanced Excel and analytical skillsGood verbal and written communication skills (English)Ability to work effectively with people from diverse culturesHands-on approach and strong team playerAbility to work overtime and flexible hours when requiredMinimum Education & Skills RequiredMatric / Grade 12 (Senior Certificate)Industrial Engineering DegreeExperience with Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean principlesAbility to perform capability studies to Six Sigma standardsAdvanced Excel proficiencyExperience RequirementsMinimum 3+ years experience as an Industrial Engineer23 years experience conducting BOM reviews and time & motion studies23 years experience in a CI / Lean-driven environment
