INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for conducting BOM (Bill of Materials) reviews, performing time and motion studies, and carrying out process capability studies. The role focuses on analysing production data, ensuring process stability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

Key Performance Areas

• Ensure accurate timekeeping for start-ups and conduct detailed time studies
• Conduct time and motion studies across operations
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and PPE protocols
• Capture and analyse machine and process information
• Capture weight and cycle time data across all three shifts
• Plot and create capability analyses using bar graphs, bell curves, and related statistical tools to ensure process stability
• Structure and organise production information according to required formats
• Reconcile and consolidate production data (manual records, Plant Master system, and actual output)
• Create dummy BOMs for review with consolidated supporting documentation
• Drive meetings and consolidate relevant data for stakeholders
• Present findings and recommendations from studies to relevant stakeholders

Minimum Education & Skills Required

• Matric / Grade 12 (Senior Certificate)
• Industrial Engineering Degree
• Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean principles
• Ability to perform capability studies to Six Sigma standards
• Advanced Excel proficiency

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years experience as an Industrial Engineer
• 23 years experience conducting BOM reviews and time & motion studies
• 23 years experience in a CI / Lean-driven environment
