Product Knowledge

ENVIRONMENT:
A fast-paced Software Specialist seeks an ambitious Junior Technician to produce, test and ship electronic products. You will also have general responsibilities around the office including maintenance, inventory management and general technical tasks. The ideal candidate must have a high level of dexterity with hands and good eyesight for delicate work, have a Matric/Grade 12 Certificate with at least 1 year experience as an Electronic Technician or appropriate Diploma qualification with experience soldering, electronic assembly and testing and the ability to read and understand circuit schematic diagrams.
DUTIES:
* Storeroom maintenance and keeping track of stock.
* Travelling to/from suppliers.
* Product assembly.
* Product testing and fault finding.
* Soldering electronic components during product/prototype assembly and re-work.
* Preparing and packaging items for shipment.
* Documentation and database maintenance for test reports and stock lists.
* General hardware/maintenance work around the office.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Matric/Grade 12 Certificate.
* At least 1 year of Electronic Technician experience, or appropriate Diploma qualification.
* Experience in soldering, electronic assembly and testing.
* High level of dexterity with hands and good eyesight (for delicate work).
* Ability to read and understand circuit schematic diagrams.
* General computer skills including Word, Excel, etc.

The IT Service Desk is the central point of contact for all IT related incidents and service requests. The role of the Desktop Support Technician is to provide second line support for all staff.
* Responsible for resolving support requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands.
* IT Support staff work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through e-mail, phone, in person, for walk-in customers and self-service
* To diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows and Mac) and across a range of software applications
