Job Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented Non-Motor Claims Assessor Intern for end-to-end adjudication of short-term insurance claims. You will be assisting in determining the validity, quantum, and merit of claims involving buildings,
contents, and technical equipment (e.g., solar, geysers, and electronics).
Key Responsibilities

Claims
Adjudication: Validate and
finalize claims for glass, fire, theft, and building damage against policy
terms and conditions.
·
Site
Inspections & Investigations: Conduct field or desktop assessments with a senior claims assessor to verify the cause
of loss and extent of damage.
·
Cost
Management: Negotiate with
service providers (builders, electricians, etc.) and audit quotes to ensure
accurate settlement amounts.
·
Fraud
Detection: Identify
suspicious activity and potential fraud, escalating cases to the relevant
investigative departments.
·
Stakeholder
Management: Provide
professional updates to clients and intermediaries.
Minimum Requirements
·
Education: Matric/Grade 12 certificate. A tertiary
qualification will be an added advantage. A Higher Certificate in Short-Term
Insurance (NQF 4 or 5) is highly preferred.

Experience: 0–1 years of experience in non-motor
claims assessing or loss adjusting within the South African insurance industry.
·
Compliance: Be willing to be FAIS compliant or to possess a
FAIS-recognized qualification. RE5 certification is an advantage.

Technical
Skills: MS Office (Excel).
·
Driver’s
License: Valid South
African driver’s license (essential for field work).
