Pezula Nature Retreat seeks an experienced and energetic Hotel Manager to lead their dynamic team.

The Hotel Manger is responsible for all aspects of the operations at the property through the coordination of the Division managers and Head of departments. The Hotel Manager carries the responsibility for being the of being the ambassador for the brand, providing leadership and support the service culture to result in maximum guest satisfaction while working very closely with the property owners and other stakeholders.

Minimum requirements

  • Hotel Management / related qualification
  • At least 2 years in the same or similar position in a 4/5 star hotel
  • Familiar with all the duties and procedures of the hotel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to interact with others on all levels of employment

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment, counselling employees as appropriate and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to management
  • Implement performance standards to ensure absolute guest satisfaction
  • Performance management, Discipline, Coaching and development
  • Ensure effective communication amongst various departments
  • Exceptional knowledge of all hotel products and services
  • Guest complaint handling
  • Build relationships with guests and cross sell all services and products
  • Walkabouts to ensure all areas are up to standard
  • Maintain standards of food preparation and presentation
  • Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service
  • Conduct performance appraisals
  • Ensure property specific legislative compliance
  • Evaluate guest opinions through various online portals
  • Initiate policies and procedures and corrective action to avoid further complaints
  • Ensure correct recruitment procedures are followed
  • Regular on the job training to be provided
