Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:Programme ManagementDevelop and implement a comprehensive sports programme aligned with the school calendar.Coordinate seasonal sports codes (e.g. athletics, rugby, netball, soccer, cricket, hockey, swimming, etc.)Ensure inclusivity across all age groups and ability levels.Fixture & EventsArrange inter-school fixtures, leagues, and tournamentOrganize internal sports events (sports days, inter-house competitions, fun days)Liaise and with other schools, sports buddies, and associationsStaff & Coaching Coordination Appoint, manage, and support coaches (internal staff and external coaches)Ensure coaching and standards are maintainedProvide guidance, training opportunities, and performance feedbackLearner DevelopmentEncourage participation and identify talented athletesSupport high-performance and athletes with pathways and exposure opportunitiesPromote sportsmanship, discipline, and teamworkLogistics & AdministrationManage and schedules, timetables, and venue bookingsOversee transport arrangements for fixturesMaIntain accurate record of teams, results, and attendanceEnsure compliance with school policies and safety regulations Facilities & EquipmentOversee maintenance and use of sports facilitiesManage procurement, storage, and inventory of sports equipmentEnsure facilities meet safety standardsBudget ManagementPrepare and manage the sports budgetMonitor expenditure and control costAssist with fundraising initiatives where necessaryCommunicationCommunication schedules, results, and update to parents, learners, and staffPromote sports activities via newsletters, social media, and platforms Build relationships with parents and the wider school commmunityCompliance & Safety Ensure adherence to safely protocols and risks mananagement proceduresOversee first aid readiness during sports activitiesEnsures compliance with relevant South African school sports regulations and bodies Qualifications:Relevant qualifications in Sports Management, Physical Education, or similar Teaching qualification (advantageous, especially in schools where coaching is linked to teaching)Fluent in English and AfrikaansFully computer literate-MS Office SuiteValid drivers license and own vehicleExperiencehttps://www.jobplacements.com/Jobs/S/Sports-Coordinator-1277821-Job-Search-04-02-2026-10-13-44-AM.asp?sid=gumtree
