Role Overview: We are seeking a technically strong and hands-on Workshop Manager to oversee and optimise operations within our CNC machining workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, machine performance oversight, production quality control, workflow planning, and overall operational efficiency across 10 CNC machines. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical capability, problem-solving ability, and active involvement on the shop floor.Salary offer: R35K - R55K dependant on experience/qualificationsMinimum Requirements:Proven experience in CNC machining and workshop supervision.Strong programming experience in Mastercam and/or Fusion 360.Solid understanding of CNC tooling and machining processes.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Experience overseeing multiple CNC machines simultaneously.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Quality-focused and detail-oriented.Hands-on leadership approach.Key Responsibilities:Overseeing of Technical and CNC ProgrammingDevelop CNC programs from scratch using Mastercam and/or Fusion 360.Load and test programs on CNC machines.Run initial setup and first-off components.Verify that first-off parts meet 100% dimensional and quality requirements.Provide technical support and guidance to CNC operators.Ensure correct tooling selection and application.Production & Quality ControlConduct spot checks across all CNC machines.Verify correct clamping and setup before production runs.Assist with quality inspections and ensure compliance with specifications.Identify and resolve machining or tooling issues proactively.Workshop Management:Oversee productivity and performance of 10 CNC machines.Plan and manage workflow to meet production deadlines.Monitor machine utilisation and minimise downtime.Implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.Ensure smooth day-to-day workshop operations.Problem Solving & LeadershipThink creatively to resolve production challenges.Develop contingency plans where required.Support and mentor CNC operators.Promote a productive and disciplined workshop environment.
