We are seeking a Data Scientist (Mid–Senior Level) to develop advanced analytical models and generate insights that drive strategic decision-making. This role is suited for someone who is strong technically, with the ability to translate data into business value, while beginning to take on more ownership and influence in solution design.What youll do:Develop, test, and deploy statistical and machine learning modelsAnalyse large datasets to extract actionable insights and trendsTranslate business requirements into data-driven solutionsCollaborate with data engineers and ML engineers to operationalise modelsPerform data exploration, cleaning, and feature engineeringCommunicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersBuild dashboards, reports, or visualisations where requiredMonitor model performance and continuously improve outputsContribute to solution design and analytical approachesYour Experience:3 –5 years’ experience in a Data Scientist roleStrong proficiency in Python and/or RExperience with data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learnUnderstanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical modelling techniquesExperience with data wrangling, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis (EDA)Ability to work with large datasets and SQL-based systemsExperience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Exposure to deploying models or working alongside ML engineersAbility to frame problems and define analytical approaches independentlyTranslate complex findings into clear business recommendationsExperience influencing decision-making through data insightsExposure to end-to-end data science lifecycle (from exploration to deployment)Ability to guide or mentor junior team membersExperience with MLOps or model deployment pipelinesExposure to big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)Familiarity with Generative AI / LLMsExperience in Agile environmentsQualifications:Qualification:NQF Level 6 or higher tertiary qualification in Information Communication Technology (ICT), including (but not limited to) Information SystemsCertifications:Relevant Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred)Skills:Strong analytical and critical thinking abilityEffective communication and storytelling with dataBusiness acumen and problem-solving mindsetAbility to work in cross-functional teamsProactive and detail-oriented approachOther information applicabl
