PROBATION
3 month’s probation from commencement date.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/OTHER
Assist with the management of all drivers
-Appointments (interview, testing of driving skills, collection and copies filed for all documents (licence, PDP etc.
-Regular checks on drivers PDP and licence renewals.
- Ensure copies are filed.Successful drivers will be required to sign and acknowledge rules and regulations in contract of employment.
-Enforcing of rules and regulations, if necessary issue letters of warning
-Resolution of disputes.
-Drivers are required to report all faults on vehicles to Operations Manager and Mechanic.
-Regular checks on drivers fault and maintenance book per vehicle.
-Sending diesel orders for drivers and monitoring consumption for each vehicle.
Tracking
-Tracking of vessel status, booking slots and delivery planning.
-Hourly tracking updates.
-Tracking of vehicles and drivers and providing regular updates to customers or management (delivery planning and export stack status)
-.Allocation of loads to drivers including checking on Navis (Transporter allocated, container and seal numbers pre-advised, booking requests).
-Booking of loads with authorized customers.
-Liaise with line manager to ensure that high priority containers are delivered efficiently.
Monitoring of drivers
-Monitor driver sleeps, speed and route.
Documents
-Collection of POD’s, toll receipts, overnight sleep receipts from drivers.
-Ensure copies of POD’s are made and attached to the instructions and invoices.
-Ensure drivers complete their trips sheets correctly with all the required information.
- Collection of documents to and from customers, shipping lines etc.Ad hoc requirements e.g. Collection of DRO’s, assisting with COR and licence renewals etc.
-Administration such as filing of invoices, documents etc.
