Senior Backend Developer

Technical Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Proven experience building scalable RESTful APIs
• Strong understanding of backend development principles and server-side architecture
• Ability to design, build, and maintain high-performance backend systems

• Strong experience working with PostgreSQL
• Ability to design database schemas and optimise queries
• Experience working with Redis for caching, queues, or performance optimisation
• Strong understanding of data integrity, transactions, and performance tuning

• Experience working with Linux environments
• Experience using Docker and containerised applications
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience building scalable and high-availability systems

• Experience writing unit tests and integration tests
• Experience using testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or similar
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Experience identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools
• Understanding of deployment and production environments

• Experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, Fastify, or Koa
• Experience working with ORMs such as TypeORM, Sequelize, or similar
• Understanding of API security, authentication, and best practices
