Automation Technician - Software

AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN - SOFTWARE

Our client, an industrial automation and robotics company, is seeking an experienced Automation Technician with a software focus specializing in automation integration systems!

• Location: Pretoria
• Salary: R25,000 - R45,000 (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday (overtime sometimes required)
• Training: Yes, training will be provided
• Start Date: As soon as possible

Essential Qualifications:

• Degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Industrial Automation
• OR
• Applicable trade certificate (Electrical, Millwright, or Mechatronic)
• Valid driver's license and own transport

Essential Experience:

• Proven PLC programming and robot programming experience
• Automotive sector experience preferred
• Kuka Robots - 3 YEARS MINIMUM (practical experience, not just certification)
• Beckhoff and Siemens PLCs experience highly advantageous

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in various programming languages
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installation processes
• Able to read and understand electrical drawings
• MS Windows, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Project
• AutoCAD experience advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with installation teams to ensure project success
• Create and maintain project documentation and reports
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs and robotic systems
• Conduct fault-finding and debugging on automation systems
• Assist with mechanical and electrical installations
• Provide guidance, training, and support to junior staff
