Senior IT Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Provide WAN and LAN support across the retail estate.
• Manage and advise on future network strategy and technologies.
• Troubleshoot network and wireless faults, liaising with vendors to drive solutions.
• Use monitoring tools to anticipate and prevent outages.
• Take a lead role in troubleshooting IT infrastructure issues.
• Manage network and datacentre-related projects.
• Oversee patch management, high availability, scalability, and capacity planning.
• Provide accurate management reporting and infrastructure forecasting.
• Improve and optimise current infrastructure implementations.
• Document designs, specifications, and implementations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Expert-level Cisco Datacentre core (Nexus) switching and routing.
• Strong experience with Cisco Catalyst, Aruba wireless, and switching.
• Security expertise across complex network environments.
• Knowledge of MPLS, VoIP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP.
• Strong understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP protocol suite, and IP addressing.
• Cloud network integration experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive mindset.

Advantageous Experience

• Experience managing datacentres with knowledge of:
  • Power systems (UPS, Generator)
  • HVAC, fire suppression, hot aisle containment
  • Structured cabling infrastructure
