Configuration Manager - Officer

Role Overview
This role is suited to a detail-oriented professional experienced in configuration control within a structured engineering environment. You will be responsible for maintaining integrity and traceability of product data throughout the lifecycle, ensuring compliance with strict quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain configuration management processes and procedures
• Control and track all configuration items (CIs) across development and production
• Manage baselines, version control, and change control processes
• Chair or support Configuration Control Boards (CCB)
• Ensure accurate documentation, records, and status accounting
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and project teams to ensure alignment
• Support audits and ensure compliance with industry and defence standards
• Maintain configuration management tools and systems

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Configuration Management / Configuration Officer role within a high-tech, defence, aerospace, or electronics environment
• Strong understanding of configuration control principles and lifecycle management
• Experience with document control, change management, and baseline management
• Exposure to standards such as ISO, MIL-STD, or similar structured frameworks
• Experience working in environments such as defence/engineering firms is highly advantageous
• High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
• Ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment

Preferred

• Background in engineering, electronics, or technical project environments
• Experience with PLM systems or configuration management tools
• Familiarity with defence industry compliance and documentation standards
