If you are looking for an office job in the Cape Town area, almost all available jobs will be matric jobs. There are a few exceptions, but very few. There are a number of businesses that offer no matric jobs or non-matric jobs, but they tend not to be office jobs.
No Matric: Need Not Apply
There are, of course, a number of different categories of office jobs that are available in Cape Town and the surrounding area. Virtually all of them are matric jobs. Included in these are jobs that require no prior experience at all and jobs that require a year or more experience. Many of the jobs requiring experience may also require education or experience in a particular specialty
The Distinction Between No Matric and Non-Matric
No matric jobs are sometimes referred to as general jobs, but they tend to be few and far between, and when advertised, tend to be openings for truck drivers, waiters, waitresses, fast food supervisors, and the like. A distinction, however, needs to be made between a no matric job and a non-matric job. The latter is usually opened to someone who has not matriculated from a South African school but whose education is equivalent. Those who fall into this category are generally those who have received their education in another country and have the equivalent of 12 years or more of formal education.
Matric Jobs in Cape Town
Since virtually all office jobs in Cape Town list having a matric as a basic requirement, you can confine your search to the type of job you are looking for and a job whose background and experience requirements you believe you are able to satisfy. There are many entry-level openings or jobs that require no prior experience. Many of these openings are for office assistants or clerical positions. Many listings simply refer to the available jobs as general office positions. There are, of course, many upper level jobs open to you if you have the proper background
The number of matric jobs available to you is limited only by your own background or experience. Many no matric jobs require little in the way of experience and some, none at all. Needless to say, these are often the lower-paying jobs.
