The field of Computing Sciences includes Computer Science and Information Systems. There are three key areas of performance that academic staff members in the department need to meet, namely: 1) learning and teaching; 2) engagement and 3) research generally focused within the Departments research areas (descriptive topics available upon request). The main purpose of this post is therefore to facilitate and administer the learning process for students in modules presented by the Department at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels specifically in the discipline of Computer Science, to supervise junior Postgraduate students, to be involved in research activities and regularly publish on such research and to contribute to community engagement.The appointee will be expected to assist in the presentation of some of the undergraduate programming modules.KEY PERFORMANCE AREASLearning and TeachingFacilitate learning and teaching for assigned module(s) in accordance with principles of good teaching practice, which includes material development, engaging with students and module administration;Represent the Department at relevant Faculty and University learning and teaching forumsResearch Provide research supervision to honours students; Participate in research projects within the Department; Generate research outputs for publication in the Departments research areas; Represent the Department at relevant Faculty and University research forums.Engagement Participate in or initiate Departmental engagement activities, which could include engagement with schools, industry and other external stakeholders; and Represent the Department at relevant Faculty and University engagement forums.CORE COMPETENCIES Related and relevant experience in the field of Computer Science.Knowledge of topics in Computer Science such as programming languages (C#, Jav
