Key ResponsibilitiesLead the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of all utilities infrastructure, including:Boilers (5-ton industrial boiler systems)Ammonia refrigeration plants and chillersAir compressors, cooling towers, glycol systems, and water plantsGenerators and backup power systemsProcess utilities, including chilled water and steam distributionImplement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to minimise downtime and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.Manage utilities performance, including service intervals, compliance records, calibration schedules, and safety documentation.Conduct root-cause analysis, 5-Why investigations, and implement sustainable corrective actions.Lead and mentor technical teams, ensuring effective daily maintenance planning, task allocation, and shift support.Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement.Oversee utilities-related projects, upgrades, and installation of new equipment.Ensure full compliance with statutory and audit requirements for pressure vessels, boilers, burners, ammonia systems, and electrical installations.Maintain spare parts, budget controls, contractor management, and adherence to safety procedures.Qualifications & Experience RequiredTrade Test: Instrumentation Mechanician (essential)N2N4 Electrical/Instrumentational training or equivalent technical qualifications10+ years experience in utilities management within manufacturing, FMCG, dairy, beverage, or industrial environmentsStrong experience working with:Ammonia refrigeration systems (GEA compressors, ice banks, glycol chillers)Industrial boilers and burner control systemsAir compressors (Kaeser, Airstream, high-pressure and low-pressure systems)Water treatment plants and filtration systemsPLCs, HMIs, VSDs, and instrumentation calibrationProven leadership experience in maintenance or technical management rolesExcellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skillsAbility to work under pressure in high-volume production operationsSkills & CompetenciesAdvanced fault finding across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systemsStrong understanding of industrial thermoprocessing equipment and NEC electrical standardsAbility to interpret and update technical documentation, calibration certificates, and compliance reportsHands-on expertise with PLC backups, HMI support, and control system upgradesExceptional planning, analytical thinking, and attention to detailAbility to drive continuous improvement, optimise process efficiencies,
