Candidate Fire Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, surveys, and fire risk assessments across commercial, retail, and industrial properties
• Design and develop fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
• Ensure compliance with SANS regulations, building codes, and fire safety legislation
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Perform system inspections, testing, servicing, and maintenance
• Provide recommendations for fire safety improvements and risk mitigation
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
• Provide technical support to clients and internal teams
• Stay up to date with fire engineering standards and new technologies

Minimum Requirements

• SAQCC certification (Handheld and Detection essential)
• Valid drivers licence
• 35 years experience as a Fire Technician / Fire Supervisor / Fire Systems Technician
• Strong technical knowledge of fire detection, suppression, and alarm systems
• Experience working with various fire protection systems and products
• Solid understanding of fire safety compliance, SANS standards, and relevant legislation
