The job role is to operate equipment and machinery and manage the production process to ensure the overall equipment efficiencies and production output targets are achieved to meet the quality standards and customer requirements. Key responsibilitiesOperating of the tube making machine to produce tubes according to the required standards and customer specifications.Setting up of machine to different sizes of tubes as per customer requirements.Running machine to attain above 85% efficiencies and less than 3% financial scrap rate.The operator would be required to check quality conformance from time to time according to the production requirements to reduce non-conforming products.Ensure that production times are less than 10% to maximise machine utilisation and ensuring that shift production targets are met.To ensure that the machine is in good, sound, clean and safe operating state.Reporting on production and machine issues in time to shift Technical Department via job card system and production reports to ensure timeous interventions.Recording of daily production activities and figures on the machine should be done by the operator for tracking and records. Communicating effectively with the viewer for proper running and producing conforming tubes.Reporting: Monitoring product quality, reporting any problems, and informing supervisors about equipment needing repair or maintenance.Follow all standard operating procedures for start-up, operating and shutdowns of the relevant machines to ensure quality products are produced, the overall equipment efficiencies (OEE) are achieved, and manufacturing costs are reduced.Ensure that the machine is set up properly, it functions effectively to produce quality products.Attend to machine alarms and clear jam-ups to ensure the machine runs continuously without undue stoppages.Perform product changeovers within the specified time as per the production plan and requirementsMonitor the machine efficiencies, complete all relevant documentation, and conduct machine verifications to ensure efficiency targets are achieved and good quality products are produced.Minimum requirements Must have Grade 12 / Matric qualification plus an engineering qualificationMust have at least 3 years experience as a Packaging Machine operator in a production environment3-5 years experience in operating machines, setting up and changing
