THE ROLE SITS within a highly specialised division who provide Risk Assurance Services and advanced Actuarial functionality. They run highly complex Models for clients – and the Developers in the team are building Apps around these Models for use both internally and externally.
THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM currently have 4 Senior BE Engineers, and 1 Junior FE Engineer. You will come in as SENIOR FRONT-END DEVELOPER.
THE ROLE:
There are tow pieces of work under way: 1. Core Platform development. (The task will be to create components into frameworks to roll out across multiple apps, and 2. Building the Apps.
The Apps that you’ll design and develop are a suite of financial, statistical, analytics and operational services, exposed to internal teams and external clients, through a multi-module web frontend.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Focus on frontend development with Angular, Redux, Grpc / REST and visualisation tools.
Able to apply fundamental computer science concepts such as abstraction, composition and dependency injection to produce well-architectured and robust software components.
Degree in Computer Science (or similar).
2+ years’ experience as a Lead Developer.
Frontend web development experience including dedicated Angular development.
Thorough understanding of principled test-driven development.
Working knowledge & experience with git collaborative workflows & pull requests.
Thorough understanding of the mechanics of web applications with a focus on frontend
single-page application development, reactive data stores and API integration.
gRPC and protocol buffers OR a strong background with REST APIs and an interest in learning and applying gRPC.
Centralised state management (redux / ngrx).
