The following experience will be advantageous:
Skills:
- Minimum of four years but six will be advantageous experience in the application of Artificial Intelligence models.
- Minimum of four years but six will be advantageous hands-on experience with data science tools.
- Minimum of four years but six will be advantageous experience in the use of querying and programming languages such as Python, R, T-SQL, etc.
- Minimum of four years but six will be advantageous experience in data mining, mathematics and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms and business intelligence technologies.
- Experience in guiding project teams and ensure solutions are developed and deployed according to approved design and meet business requirements.
- Solid understanding of the project life cycle of Built, SaaS, and Commercial Off the-Shelf (COTS) solutions.
- Minimum three years experience in writing scripts for data query analysis.
- Minimum three years experience in developing business intelligence (dashboards, operational reports) solutions.
- Minimum three years experience in ETL implementations.
The following experience will be advantageous:
- Minimum three years experience in the IT software development environment
- Solid experience in the compilation of a Terms of Reference document
- Conduct research and options analysis to determine optimal ways of solution acquisition for business.
- Bachelors degree in statistics, applied mathematics, data/computer science or related discipline, a postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- An industry certification in Data Science
Skills:
- Data Wrangling proficiency in handling imperfections in data is an important aspect of a data scientist job description.
- Experience with Data Visualisation Tools like matplotlib, ggplot, d3.js., PowerBI that help to visually encode data
- Excellent Communication Skills ability to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience.
- Strong Software Engineering Background
- Problem-solving aptitude
