DTP Operator - Cape Town

My client a leading and well-known company based in Cape Town requires a competent and experienced DTP Operator to join their creative team.

CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To be able to perform accurate DTP make-up, layout and pre-flighting of PDFs while using the in-house workflow systems/programmes within the allocated time

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

DTP

• Follow correct job brief from manager-Briefing may include client instructions.
• Read & understand work ticket before performing the task at hand from brief supplied to make-up and supply high-res pdf using the agreed workflow - APOGEE X system.
• Ensure Job complies with Company & ISO standards.
• Supply electronic proof for client to approve artwork web approval
• Verify compliance to standards / briefing understanding changes to each job apply corrections accordingly
• Ensure that proof is signed before submitting jobs for production
• Ensure that the correct files are copied to the relevant production departments
• Ensure quality measures are in place paying attention to accuracy of colour, fonts, design elements and final sizes from the product brief
• Ensure that job is checked against b/w laser output to confirm accuracy
• Interpersonal relationship i.e. function well within the team
• Ensure compliance to legislative requirements eg; Company policies / legal requirements

Computer Maintenance and Housekeeping.

• Creates working folders within the server.<
