Description
  1. Job Purpose:
To develop, maintain, and grow fuel sales across both retail and commercial sectors. This includes managing relationships with company-owned service stations, franchise partners, and commercial clients across industries. The role also involves coordinating closely with the in-house logistics team to ensure timely and accurate fuel deliveries, while meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Sector:
  • Manage and grow fuel sales across branded company-owned fuel stations and franchise sites.
  • Support franchisees with pricing, promotions, and volume growth strategies.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure brand consistency and operational standards.
  • Work with retail site operators to optimize fuel ordering and customer service delivery.
Commercial Sector:
  • Identify and acquire new commercial clients across industries such as:
    • Transport & logistics companies
    • Agriculture and farming operations
    • Construction & mining firms
    • Government and municipal entities
    • Any organization requiring bulk fuel supply
  • Conduct client fuel needs analysis to create tailored fuel supply solutions.
  • Manage contract negotiation and renewals for bulk fuel delivery agreements.
  • Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with key commercial accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal logistics teams to ensure accurate, timely fuel deliveries.
Sales & Account Management:
  • Achieve monthly and annual fuel sales targets across all client segments.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and contracts.
  • Use CRM tools to manage leads, client interactions, and pipeline updates.
  • Provide market feedback on competitor pricing, customer trends, and service issues.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.

Job Specifications:
Education & Qualifications:
  • Matric / Grade 12 (Minimum)
  • Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or Petroleum Studies (Preferred)
Experience:
  • 25 years in sales, preferably in fuel, petroleum, logistics, or industrial supply
  • Experience dealing with B2B clients and retail fuel networks is highly advantageous
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Sales-driven with a focus on customer service
  • Understanding of fuel supply chain and logistics
  • Ability to analyze customer needs and prepare custom solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM systems
  • Knowledge of fuel products (petrol, diesel, lubricants), pricing, and delivery models
