Description
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure aviation, electronic and mechanical components according to BOMs and engineering specifications.
- Manage local and international suppliers, negotiate pricing and secure optimal lead times.
- Maintain full traceability of all parts, including certificates, serial numbers and GRN processes.
- Set up and manage a structured technical stores environment shelving, barcoding, stock control and issuing of parts.
- Capture and track all stock movements on the inventory system (Aerotracks or similar).
- Handle logistics, shipping, customs and documentation for imports and exports.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, electronics, mechanical, operations and logistics teams.
Minimum Requirements
General:- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering or a related field.
- 35+ years experience in a technical buyer/procurement/stores role within electronics, mechanical or a highly technical engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of BOMs, part numbers and ERP/inventory systems (Aerotracks advantageous).
- Imports/exports experience and exposure to international suppliers.
- Strong organisational skills, technical aptitude, attention to detail and excellent stakeholder communication.
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and specifications.
- Extensive knowledge of material types such as steel grades, alloys, plastics and composites.
- Understanding of machining and fabrication processes (CNC machining, casting, welding, surface treatments).
- Prior experience within manufacturing, engineering or fabrication environments is ideal.
