Description
As a Senior Import Controller, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Oversee and manage the entire import process from origin to final delivery, ensuring seamless cargo movement.
  • Coordinate international freight in line with client import requirements and compliance standards.
  • Apply a solid understanding of INCOTERMS, commercial documentation, and statutory body procedures.
  • Manage seafreight shipment types and understand relevant insurance and claims processes.
  • Interpret complex rate structures, national currencies, and international codes.
  • Liaise with carriers, depots, customs, and other logistics partners effectively.
  • Ensure full compliance with RCG (Reporting of Conveyances and Goods) and other regulatory requirements.
What Do You Need?:
  • 57 years recent experience in import controlling within the clearing and forwarding sector.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial, transport, and statutory documentation and procedures.
  • Competent in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Solid grasp of geographical locations related to international trade.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a pressurised environment while maintaining quality.
  • Financial awareness and commitment to data integrity.
  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
