Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze run rates, seasonal trends, and align orders with supplier MOQs and lead times
- Process and load purchase orders, verify pro-forma invoices, stuffing plans, and clearing instructions
- Monitor container ETAs, shipment timelines, and ensure NRCS approvals prior to ordering
- Maintain accurate costing, landed cost calculations, and confirm sell-out pricing
- Conduct daily stock checks, manage transfers and IBTs, and resolve warehouse variances
- Maintain product database accuracy including codes, attributes, and naming conventions
- Perform safety stock calculations, top-up orders, and stock balancing recommendations
- Analyse lost sales and provide corrective recommendations
- Maintain procurement dashboards and compile monthly reporting (lead times, supplier reliability, landed cost trends, ABC and growth reports)
- Update costing calculators and build reports as required
- Monitor freight rates, negotiate transport pricing, and track forwarder performance
- Conduct quarterly and annual supplier performance reviews
- Ensure compliance with import legislation, SARS/AEO, ITAC and NRCS requirements
- Maintain audit readiness and manage homologation and inspection processes
- Develop SOPs, drive process improvements, and identify cost-saving initiatives
- Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or similar
- 3+ years experience in procurement within an import-driven environment
- Strong understanding of freight, landed costing, and supplier negotiations
- Advanced Excel skills
- ERP system experience (Acumatica advantageous)
- Strong analytical and reporting ability
- Excellent organisational and follow-up skills
- Fluent in English
