Fixed Term Fitter

A vacancy exists at* Rhino Mine Thabazimbi *for a* fixed term Fitter *reporting to the* Complex Foreman.* *Purpose of the Role:  * The incumbent will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, installation, and erection of mechanical equipment in the plant in accordance with the standard requirements of the mine.   *Key Tasks and Responsibilities: * * Maintain, Repair & troubleshoot on mills, dryer & screens. * Fitting of pulleys, v-belts, conveyor belts, couplings, gearboxes, mill liners, bearings, and all other such related fitting work around the mine. * Installation and maintenance of pumps including the relevant planning and preparation. * Change & fit dust bags & frames on dust collector of  Old mill & New Mill and repair air leaks. * Plant inspections in order to determine the work to be done ahead of maintenance. * Safety inspections, monitoring Fitter Learners and ensuring a safe working environment for the whole team. * Assisting with duties not normally associated with the Trade, but essential to the continuous operation of the plant.   *Job Specifications - Qualifications; Experience; Knowledge; Skills and Attributes:* * Grade 12.  * Must have completed relevant apprenticeship and be in possession of a recognized trade test certificate. * The candidate must be able to speak, read and write English. * A minimum of 5 years experience. * Valid code 08 driver’s license. * Ability to work independently. * Problem solving skills. * Team player. * Assertiveness. * Good employee relations. * Medical certificate for fitness.   *Job Specifications - Qualifications; Experience; Knowledge; Skills and Attributes:* * Grade 12.  * Must have completed relevant apprenticeship and be in possession of a recognized trade test certificate. * The candidate must be able to speak, read and write English. * A minimum of 5 years experience. * Valid code 08 driver’s license. * Ability to work independently. * Problem solving skills. * Team player. * Assertiveness. * Good employee relations. * Medical certificate for fitness.
