Maintenance Manager

About the Role:

A renowned wine estate in the heart of Stellenbosch is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations across the property. The estate produces exceptional wines in a historic and picturesque setting, and operational excellence is critical to its success.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing maintenance across the estate, including buildings, vineyard equipment, irrigation systems, machinery, and facilities. The role includes leading a small maintenance team, managing schedules, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and oversee all maintenance activities across the estate.
• Lead and manage the maintenance team, including training and performance management.
• Maintain all estate equipment, machinery, and infrastructure in optimal condition.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues proactively.
• Manage maintenance budgets and maintain accurate records of work orders and repairs.
• Coordinate with vineyard, cellar, and hospitality teams to minimize disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Source and manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers when required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in facilities or estate maintenance management, preferably in hospitality, agriculture, or wine estates.
• Strong technical knowledge in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
• Valid drivers license; own transport advantageous.
• Capable of handling the basics of electrical and plumbing
• Electrical Knowledge is important.
