Description

What the role is accountable for
Performing as a technical expert supporting the business development and bid teams whilst also responsible for understanding client needs in order to succinctly design technical solutions. This includes conducting product demonstrations, preparing technical proposals and solution designs, and collaborating with the business development team in order to ensure that quotations and sales are concluded successfully.

Duties:
- Compilation of quotations, tenders and solutions by the required due dates
- Engaging with potential (including site visits) and existing clients in order to service and to understand their business and technical requirements.
- Participate in the design and functional requirements of technical solutions that align with client needs in order to provide proposals and quotations to clients.
- Conduct product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and present company solutions at workshops and seminars in order to showcase the companys product ranges and solutions
- Prepare technical proposals, solution designs, and create pricing models and technical documentation for RFI/RFP submissions.
- Act as the technical subject matter expert (SME) at the costing the sales cycle whilst engaging with the engineering and technical teams for the completion of customer proposals and quotations
- Identify and solve technical challenges and other problems that address clients needs with the explicit purpose or concluding or providing input wrt to architecting solutions for customers and catalysing sales, revenue and sustainability.
- Continuous feedback to the customer regarding the progress of the order
- Develop and maintain good customer relationships for the future growth of the company
- Use the various sales tools (CRM, ERP etc)
- Interface with the Companys engineering departments regarding customer requirements and specifications
- Support development of sales and marketing material

Essential Qualifications:
- Matric Certificate
- Electrical Diploma or equivalent
- Technical and commercial acumen
- Client Centricity
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.Eng (Elec).
Experience:
- 5 to 10 years function related experience in Automated Metering Reading hardware, software and related services.
- Detailed Technical knowledge of the above technologies and application thereof
- Demonstrated ability in building customer relationships
- Preferred to have related work experience in Sub-Sahara African countries.
