Mechanical Draughtsman

You will ensure that every component, sub-assembly, and system can be manufactured without prior design knowledge because your drawings will tell the full story.

Responsibilities:

• Execute design tasks within defined parameters and system interfaces
• Prepare solid models of components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies following file structure and numbering protocols
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical designers to ensure integration and cable routing feasibility
• Prepare detailed layout and manufacturing drawings
• Ensure technical integrity and accuracy of all design documentation
• Assist during prototype building and testing
• Capture and integrate feedback into revised designs
• Support projects to meet time and budget targets
• Work closely with design leadership to ensure execution alignment
• Communicate effectively with manufacturing teams
• Capture red-line drawings during prototype and production phases
• Support maintenance and repair documentation requirements

What You Bring:

• Professional drafting qualification or equivalent certification
• 26 years drafting experience in the automotive industry
• Military vehicle environment experience (advantageous)
• Proficiency in:
  
  • Onshape and SolidWorks (preferred)
  • SolidWorks PDM or similar PDM system
  • Microsoft Office
