Civil Technician/Technologist

Location: Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Role: Civil Technologist/Civil Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Civil Technician with a specialised focus on water engineering. The Civil Technician will play a crucial role in supporting water conservation initiatives within the company. This position is responsible for overseeing and implementing various water conservation projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and within the allocated timelines. The successful candidate will manage a team of field technicians and general workers, guiding them in executing day-to-day operations related to water conservation and demand management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the implementation of water conservation strategies and projects.
• Manage and supervise a team of technicians to ensure effective execution of tasks.
• Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring alignment with project goals and deadlines.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify areas for improvement in water conservation efforts.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of all activities and prepare regular reports for management.

Required:

• Valid South African Drivers License.
• National Diploma (NDip) in Civil Engineering, Water Management, or a related field.
• Registered as a Candidate with ECSA.
• 3+ Years' experience after obtainment of Qualification on municipal water projects, water demand and conservation, metering, water distribution and reticulation.
• Proven experience in managing teams and overseeing technical projects.
• Strong understanding of water conservation principles and practices.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Intermediate skills in MS Office (MS Word, Excel & Power Point)
• Willingness to work all over South Africa.
• Municipal Product knowledge and bylaws
