Production Manager

This position is wellâ??suited for a driven professional who excels in highâ??pressure environments, delivering consistent plant performance, and leading multi-disciplinary teams toward production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all production activities within the gold and copper processing plant to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly throughput and recovery targets.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise operational teams, ensuring efficient plant operation and strong shift performance.
• Monitor and analyse plant KPIs, including recovery, grade, throughput, downtime, and reagent consumption.
• Drive plant optimisation initiatives through process improvements and operational discipline.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance, engineering, metallurgy, and safety teams to ensure smooth plant operations and minimal downtime.
• Implement and enforce SHEQ standards, ensuring full compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Conduct operational risk assessments and implement action plans where needed.
• Support commissioning, rampâ??up, and expansion projects involving gold & copper circuits.
• Ensure accurate reporting through daily production updates, incident summaries, and shift performance logs.
• Manage workforce planning, training, and operational capability improvements.
• Contribute to budgeting, cost control, and resource utilisation planning.

Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):

• Diploma or Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field (advantageous but not always mandatory with strong experience).
• Proven track record as a Production Manager, Plant Superintendent, or Senior Plant Supervisor in gold and/or copper mining operations.
• Strong understanding of gold processing methods (CIP/CIL, gravity circuits, milling, and flotation) and copper processing (concentration, flotation, crushing, and milling).
• Excellent leadership skills with experience managing large operational teams.
• Strong analytical capability and a dataâ??driven approach to operational decisionâ??making.
• Ability to work rotational schedules in remote mining environments.
• High level of commitment to plant safety, quality, and delivery performance.
