Description

1. Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and implement the companys financial strategy and operations.
  • Provide executive oversight, leadership, and strategic direction for all financial activities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning from a financial perspective.
  • Ensure internal financial targets and budgets align with the strategic plan and agreements with the Accounting Authority.

2. Governance, Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, GRAP, and Delegation of Authority (DoA).
  • Deliver governance reporting to the Board, Audit Committee, and Accounting Authority.
  • Maintain robust internal control systems that meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Address findings from the clients and support audit processes.

3. Financial Management & Oversight

  • Manage revenue and expenditure.
  • Oversee accounting, payroll, and finance staff, including recruitment and performance management.
  • Manage working capital, assets, and liabilities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting.

4. Supply Chain Management (SCM)

  • Provide strategic oversight of SCM function.
  • Ensure compliance with public procurement legislation, SCM policies, and internal controls.

5. Facilities & Travel Oversight

  • Provide executive oversight of the companys Facilities and Travel functions.

6. Stakeholder & Sector Engagement

  • Represent the company at strategic forums within the energy and water sector.
  • Engage with Board, EXCO, National Treasury, auditors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support the companys positioning as a skills development authority.

7. Additional Duties

  • Attend to any other matters arising within the CFOs functional scope.
  • Work overtime when necessary (not compensated separately included in total cost).
  • Adhere to the companys Code of Conduct and confidentiality requirements.
