Senior Accountant

An established organization within the engineering and mining-related industry is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant with strong reporting capability and proven post-article experience. This role is ideal for a resilient, hands-on professional who enjoys responsibility, people management, and involvement in both operational and strategic finance activities.

The successful candidate will oversee direct reports, contribute to financial governance, and support the business with accurate reporting, insights, and sound financial controls and management accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Oversee and manage direct reports within the finance team
• Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure statutory compliance and accurate financial records
• Support operational teams with financial insights
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes

Job Experience and Skills Required

• Education: BCom Accounting (SAIPA preferred but not essential)
• Experience: Minimum 3 years post-article experience
• Industry Exposure: Engineering and mining experience advantageous
• Skills: Strong reporting experience; managerial/leadership exposure essential
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities
