This role is suited to a hands-on finance professional who enjoys operational exposure, cost analysis, and working closely with site-based stakeholders in a dynamic environment.Our client is a stable and reputable organisation operating within the mining and metals space. Based at Head Office in Centurion, the Cost and Management Accountant will take ownership of the management accounting and cost control function for two operational mines.The role requires travel to mine sites at least once per month, providing direct exposure to operations and enabling meaningful financial insight, cost optimisation, and decision support. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting, effective budgeting, and strong financial governance.This opportunity offers excellent exposure to operational finance within the mining sector and is ideal for a candidate looking to strengthen their cost and management accounting skill set.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review monthly management accounts for mining operationsPerform detailed cost analysis, variance analysis, and operational reportingManage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes for mine sitesOversee month-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenanceMonitor and analyse mining and operational costs to support profitabilityProvide financial insights and decision support to operational and senior managementLiaise with internal and external auditorsManage statutory submissions, including VAT and payroll-related returnsUtilise ERP systems effectively and drive continuous process improvementsEnsure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and governance requirementsJob Experience and Skills Required:Education:BCom in Accounting / Cost & Management Accounting (essential)Completed articles will be advantageousExperience:Minimum of 46 years experience in cost and/or management accountingExperience within Mining, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Construction industries (preferred)Operational or site-based finance exposure will be highly advantageousSkills:Strong cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting capabilityERP system experience is essential (Sage experience advantageous)Advanced Excel and reporting skillsHigh attention to detail and strong analytical abilityAbility to work independently and meet strict deadlinesWillingness to travel to mine sites at least once per monthApply now!https://www.jobplacements.com/Jobs/C/Cost--Management-Accountant--Mining-1283454-Job-Search-04-22-2026-00-00-00-AM.asp?sid=gumtree
