1. Purpose of Role -The Shaft Timberman is responsible to provide engineering maintenance, repairs and construction services to the shaft and station area. 2. Work of Role -Effective administration of systems (shaft) -Effective shaft maintenance through the ability to performing shaft maintenance -Effective maintenance of the shaft to standard and legal compliance -Performing shaft maintenance -Allocating resources and equipment according to priorities -Communicating resource requirements -Communicating operational problems -Blasting hanging boxes -Blasting in decline area -Inspecting shaft and installations for defects -Ensuring the effectiveness of pipe and equipment installations -Assisting with equipment maintenance -Raising stock requisitions for materials required -Compiling accurate shift and work order reports -Completing job cards and descriptions of work and spares used -Ensuring accuracy of technical data 3.
