JOB DESCRIPTIONThe General Assistant (GA) will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:Housekeeping: Ensuring the cleanliness of all workstations and areas surrounding themAssisting the Manager / Supervisor with Ad hoc dutiesAssist Operators if and when requiredAdhere to health and safety regulations and instructions and advice the responsible person whenever there are risks identifiedEnsure safe loading and offloading of materials of customer and SA Metal vehiclesAssist customers to carry steelQUALIFYING EXPERIENCEA minimum Grade 12 certificatePrevious work experience in an Operations environment QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTESAbility to work in a team environmentAble to work independentlyWillingness to work overtime and shifts as per operational requirementsAbility to work under challenging physical and climatic conditionsGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to function efficiently in pressurized work situationsIn good health and physically fitKnowledge of various hand and workshop tools is an advantagePlease note that the successful candidate will receive a formal, written offer of employment after all applicable pre-employment checks have been completed.
