Our client, a respected medium-sized building contractor, is looking to appoint a proactive Site Engineer / Junior Contracts Manager to support the Contracts Director and assist in delivering a variety of commercial and residential building projects valued between R1 million and R15 million.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Contracts Director with the day-to-day management of construction projects.Work closely with Site Managers and Foremen to interpret construction drawings and specifications.Coordinate short-term planning and construction activities.Liaise with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and other members of the professional team.Follow up on outstanding information and technical queries.Assist with the procurement and ordering of materials, plant and equipment.Coordinate subcontractors and chair subcontractor coordination meetings.Monitor workmanship and ensure quality standards are achieved.Ensure Health & Safety documentation is up to date and that all site personnel comply with project H&S requirements.Work alongside the Site Quantity Surveyor to monitor project costs and ensure site cost allowables are achieved.Minimum RequirementsTertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Building.2-5 years experience on building construction projects.Good understanding of construction drawings and site coordination.Strong communication and organisational skills.Ability to work effectively with site teams and professional consultants.Own reliable transport is essential.Whats on OfferExcellent career growth within a reputable building contractor.Exposure to a wide variety of building projects.Opportunity to develop into a Contracts Manager role.Market-related salary based on experience.
