Step aside, GTI – VW in Norway created a one-of-a-kind electric office chair that has a top speed of 20km/h

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in Norway is taking electric mobility to another level with the creation of a unique office chair.

This is no ordinary chair because it is powered by an electric motor and can drive around (the office space) with a range of 12km. It can also hoot and allow occupants to listen to music. In addition, it also has a top speed of 20km/h.

The seat looks like it is fit for a GTI, also embroidered with the Volkswagen logo, has its own seat belt and 4-inch rims in solid aluminum. There's also sporty pedals and control for steering. People also can't miss you because of the LED light strips on the armrest and 'headlights' that the 'driver' can control via the touch display.

Just like a real car, it comes standard with a wide range of convenience and safety features like:

  • Seat heater.
  • Beautiful exterior in metallic paint
  • Rear view camera and 360 degree sensor
  • Loudspeakers and entertainment system with songs that give you the feeling of going on a trip
  • Flashing and work party lights
  • USB charger
  • Removable, rechargeable battery
  • Storage space of 0.005 m3 and trailer hitch

As far as seats go, it might just be the best one on the market and would be a great buy for petrolheads. According to Volkswagen Norway, the chair is only available as an exhibition model and is not for sale, but it will be available for test drives at various locations in the country.

As far as VW electric vehicles go in South Africa, there currently is none on offer.
