Expert in SQL Server (2012+), HA/DR (Clusters & Always On), advanced troubleshooting, willing to work EST hours

ð??? Qualifications

• Required:
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
  • Solid T-SQL development and administrative scripting (PowerShell)
• Preferred:
  
  • Microsoft Certified: SQL Server / Azure DBA
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
  • Familiarity with cloud-based SQL Server (Azure/Amazon RDS)

• Deep technical experience in:
  
  • Microsoft SQL Server installation, configuration, and optimization (2012 or newer)
  • SQL Server High Availability (Always On, clustering, mirroring, replication)
  • Backup/recovery strategy development (incl. PITR)
  • Performance monitoring and tuning (Profiler, DMVs, Extended Events)
  • Scripting automation (PowerShell, T-SQL)
  • Security best practices, encryption, access controls
  • Capacity planning and incident resolution in production environments
• Clear and confident communication skills for cross-team collaboration
• Willingness to work in the EST timezone, including occasional after-hours/weekend availability

1. SQL Server Maintenance
   
   • Run index rebuilds, stats updates, DBCC checks
   • Ensure healthy operations of mission-critical databases
2. High Availability / DR
   
   • Administer Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, and DR runbooks
   • Design and test disaster recovery procedures
3. Troubleshooting & Incident Response
   
   • Diagnose and fix server crashes, performance drops, transaction log failures
   • Collaborate on root cause analysis
4. Automation & Scripting
   
   • Create PowerShell and T-SQL scripts for backups, monitoring, and maintenance
   • Reduce manual interventions in daily DBA operations
5. Database Security & Compliance
   
   • Manage encryption, role-based access, and auditing
   • Align systems with compliance standards and best practices
6. Monitoring & Optimization
   
   • Use SQL Profiler, DMVs, and native tools to identify and resolve bottlenecks
   • Optimize queries, indexes, and resource usage
