Description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance back-end systems using Python, ensuring scalable and high-performance solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs to support internal and external integration.
  • Work with MySQL databases, including writing efficient queries and optimizing database performance.
  • Collaborate closely with front-end developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software and infrastructure issues within Linux environments.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to improving development standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to system architecture decisions and provide technical guidance to the development team.

Required Skills:
  • Strong Python Programming Skills: Proven experience in Python development with a solid track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • API Development: Experience developing RESTful APIs using frameworks, such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
  • Back-end Systems: Strong experience in back-end development, microservices architecture, and building scalable server-side applications.
  • Front-end Development: Exposure to modern front-end frameworks, such as Vue.js or React for building responsive user interfaces.
  • MySQL Database Skills: Hands-on experience working with MySQL, including writing complex queries, schema design, and performance optimisation.
  • Linux Environment: Practical experience working in Linux environments, including shell scripting and troubleshooting.
  • Version Control: Proficiency in Git for source control and collaborative development.

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with containerisation technologies, such as Docker.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with message brokers, such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in software development with a strong focus on Python and back-end systems.
