IT Desktop Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first and second-line technical support to end-users.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Support Windows OS, Office 365, and business-critical software.
• Manage user accounts and permissions via Active Directory.
• Resolve network connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
• Log, track, and resolve tickets within SLA.
• Maintain IT asset registers and documentation.
• Assist with basic server checks, backups, and patching.
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and standards.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:

• Matric (Grade 12).
• A relevant IT qualification (A+, N+, MCSE, MCSA, or related certificates).

Experience:

• 25 years experience in IT Desktop or Technical Support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Office 365.
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repairs.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
• Exposure to ticketing systems and remote support tools.

Nice to Have:

• Azure Fundamentals or ITIL certification.
• Experience supporting cloud environments.
