Data Engineer

What you will be doing:

• Support and maintain data pipelines across ingestion, provisioning, streaming, and API layers
• Perform data-related tasks including data profiling, cleaning, validation, configuration, and quality assurance
• Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines within Agile data squads
• Support and maintain data infrastructure to ensure it is secure, available, and reliable
• Monitor and manage data pipelines and workflows, ensuring successful execution and performance
• Configure and support enhancements and minor changes to existing pipelines
• Create data extracts and virtual datasets to support business requirements
• Collaborate with Data Analysts to support data profiling, validation, and documentation
• Monitor and support the data warehouse environment, ensuring SLA adherence and system reliability
• Provide first-line support by troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues
• Monitor and support cloud-based data platforms (compute and storage) to ensure smooth pipeline execution
• Run daily operational reports to ensure successful job execution and data availability
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, improve data accessibility, and optimise queries
• Contribute to building a data-driven environment by enabling clean, usable, and reliable data for analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives

What we are looking for:

• Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field
• Experience working with data pipelines, data warehousing, and data infrastructure
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data ingestion, and data provisioning
• Experience with SQL and database technologies
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Understanding of data quality, data governance, and data validation processes
• Familiarity with data virtualisation, APIs, and streaming technologies
• Ability to monitor and support data platforms and operational processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative, Agile environment
• Good communication skills and ability to engage with business stakeholders
