Junior Backup and Recovery Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manage enterprise-level backup and recovery strategies.
• Implement and maintain Microsoft Failover Clusters and Hyper-V environments.
• Administer and optimize SAN and NAS storage solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot backup jobs, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
• Conduct regular disaster recovery testing and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure backup coverage.
• Provide technical guidance and support on all backup-related issues.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Education: Relevant IT qualification or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven background in enterprise backup and recovery engineering.
• Skills:
  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft clustering technologies (Failover Clustering, and Hyper-V).
  • Experience with SAN/NAS storage management.
  • Hands-on knowledge of at least one mainstream backup software (Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Acronis, or Rubrik).
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Preferred: Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Veeam VMCE, or Commvault Certified Professional.
• Additional Advantage: Experience with cloud-based backup (Azure/AWS) and scripting (PowerShell and Bash).
