IT Team Lead

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Team Lead to manage the day-to-day IT operations and ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology services across the organisation.
This role will oversee IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, and support services, while also driving digital transformation initiatives and ensuring alignment with Group IT governance and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Infrastructure

• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, networks, servers, cloud services and backup systems
• Ensure reliability and performance of systems including:
• • Microsoft 365
  • Windows Server
  • Active Directory / Azure AD
  • Networking infrastructure
  • Backup and disaster recovery
• Oversee IT service desk operations and end-user support
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and minimise downtime
• Manage lifecycle of business and engineering applications

IT Leadership

• Lead, mentor and manage the IT team
• Develop and implement IT policies, processes and best practices
• Monitor and report on IT KPIs and operational performance
• Support onboarding, offboarding and IT training for staff

Security & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Group IT security policies and cybersecurity frameworks
• Manage risk assessments, vulnerability management and incident response
• Support POPIA compliance and assist with security audits
• Promote cybersecurity awareness across the organisation

Digital Transformation

• Lead initiatives including process automation, cloud adoption, collaboration platforms and analytics

Vendor & Asset Management

• Manage IT procurement, budgets and vendor relationships
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, licenses and systems

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications

• Diploma / Certification in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field required.
• Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 advantageous

Experience

• 6+ years IT experience, including 3 years in a leadership role
• Experience managing IT infrastructure, enterprise systems and cybersecurity
• Exposure to multi-site environments and remote users
• Strong experience in vendor ma
