Location: Mount Verde Estate Main Gatehouse
Employer: Mount Verde Management Association (RF) NPC
Working Hours: Shift work – 06:00 to 18:00, Monday to Sunday, on
a rotational basis.
Position Overview
The Gatehouse Controller is responsible for controlling and monitoring access to the estate, ensuring all visitors, contractors and staff comply with access procedures. The role requires a professional, attentive and service-oriented individual who maintains high standards of presentation, security awareness and operational efficiency at the entrance. Maintaining estate security is of the utmost importance and a critical role to the safety of the Estate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Presentation and Professional Conduct
- Always maintain excellent personal presentation.
- Report for duty neat, clean and tidy in the company uniform provided.
- Maintain a pleasant, professional
and approachable demeanor when dealing with residents, visitors and
contractors.
- 2. Access Control
- Greet and assist visitors, contractors and staff entering the estate.
- Following estate protocol before allowing access.
3. Security Monitoring - Maintain vigilance at the gatehouse and monitor all access points.
- Conduct regular visual checks of the gatehouse area and surrounding entrance.
- Immediately report any suspicious activity or security concerns.
- Ensure that all estate access protocols are followed.
4. Equipment and Infrastructure Monitoring
Check that all access control
equipment (booms, scanners, intercoms, cameras, etc.) are functioning
correctly.
- Report any damages or malfunctions
immediately to management.
5. Alarm Monitoring - Immediately report alarm activations to the appointed security company.
- Ensure that alarms are recorded
and communicated according to protocol.
6. Maintenance and Housekeeping - Report any maintenance issues.
- Identify and report:
- Lighting failures, infrastructure damages, landscaping issues, staff ablutions clean

- 7. Communication and Reporting
- Maintain clear communication with:
- Estate management
- Security service providers
- The Enrolment Officer
- Record and report incidents
8. Qualifications
· Registered with PSIRA (essential)
· Minimum Grade C security certificate (Grade B preferred)
· Strong knowledge of access control systems and alarm response protocols
· Previous experience at gated estates advantageous
Due to this role requiring full time presence the individual applying needs to understand that leave can only be given in 4 days interval at a time and work on public holidays / weekends is required.
