Power Protection Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Protection to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of protection systems for electrical power networks. This role involves working on transmission, distribution, and industrial power systems to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and review protection schemes for power systems including transmission and distribution networks.
• Perform protection coordination studies, fault analysis, and relay settings calculations.
• Configure and test protection relays and associated control systems.
• Support commissioning and troubleshooting of protection systems on site.
• Develop technical reports, drawings, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Participate in maintenance and upgrades of existing protection systems.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in power system protection or related field.
• Knowledge of protection relays and systems from manufacturers such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, or GE Grid Solutions.
• Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., **ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or SKM Power Tools).
• Strong understanding of protection principles (overcurrent, differential, distance, earth fault, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
