FABRIC BUYER /ADMINISTRATOR

Westside Apparel Trading (Pty) Ltd is a leading design house, for major brands.

We are based in Hammarsdale, Kwa Zulu Natal.

We are looking for a Fabric buyer with Admin to join our dynamic team.

What is a fabric buyer?

Fabric buyers are an essential part of the design team within a brand, they are responsible for researching, developing, testing and purchasing of materials for designers to work with in the design and manufacturing of garments.

Qualifications required

Ø Matric or Equivalent

Ø Experience in the textile industry

Ø Product Knowledge of Garment manufacturing processes

Ø Must be willing to travel

Ø Valid driver’s license

Ø Experience with Microsoft word and Excel

Responsibilities and Duties

Ø Purchasing of fabrics and trims according to the fashion trends

Ø Liaising with the fabric mills

Ø Quality Control on the fabric , trims purchased

Ø Communicating to the mill any issues with the fabric

Ø Looking for the best prices on trims, fabrics , etc
